Despite carrying an injury John battled on for a respectable 9th
In the Naunton (nearly) 19 on Sunday John battled on and finished in joint 9th with his training partner Darren Jewell.
The weather produced some very tough sticky and muddy conditions. This was always going to impact on John’s time from last year when he finished in 2nd place. These conditions meant he would finish 5 minutes slower this time.
Unfortunately it wasn’t the conditions that were going to hold John back, this time it was going to be an ongoing injury. John has been struggling with a left hamstring injury on and off for a few weeks and now it crept up after 6 miles. Sensibly John decided to back off and limit damage but maintain a steady pace and finish in a very respectable 9th.
We guess we’ll be seeing John soon to help with his hamstring
Well done John!
